Himachal setting up 3,366 CSCs on PPP mode

The Government of Himachal Pradesh is setting up 3366 Common Service Centres (CSCs) which would be called 'Lok Mitra Kendra' in rural areas of the hilly Indian state.

"The Lok Mitra Kendras are being established by Department of Information Technology in collaboration with private partners at Panchayat level to provide various government services under one roof to the citizens," a spokesman of the state government said.

The spokesperson said that the field work for identification of location of kendras and village level entrepreneurs who will manage the kendras has already begun in all the three divisions across the state.

The department will soon organise a state level workshop to sensitise the other government departments about the CSC scheme and the scope it provides them in extending the reach of their services right till the citizens' doorsteps.
